Puglia has touched our hearts. From our first visit, we knew this region had so much to offer. A place that slowly reveals itself and invites you to experience a slower pace of Italian life. The raw beauty, authenticity and rich history with Greek influences make it truly special.
On this work trip, we explored several masserias throughout the heel of Italy. ‘Masseria' means 'farm' in Italian and comes from the Latin massa, meaning 'fortified agricultural village.' This is fitting, as these stunning farmhouses, often resembling castles, are scattered across Puglia's landscape. Today, masserias have transformed into unique agritourism destinations, ranging from simple to luxurious, each with its own architecture, design, and history. They are often surrounded by nature and feature amenities like swimming pools, restaurants, and private gardens.
The Italian passion for beauty, design, and quality is evident everywhere, and their dedication to preserving their heritage is inspiring. Creating images to reflect the mood of these places and showcasing these unique Masseria's from above was a great experience for us!
Planning a visit to Puglia? We highly recommend Masseria Palane, Masseria dei Monaci and Masseria Rescio. Feel free to reach out with questions about the region or for travel tips.
